I know I've already stated that I forgot that Jerome Iginla as actually the first black NHL captain, not Mike Grier. But, lets look at the following pictures and see if we can understand why I might have had this mental lapse:

I dunno about you, but, when I look at these three pictures, I think Jerome Iginla looks far more like the token white guy than he does Mike Grier. If we're going to bother to keep records for "firsts", I think the NHL needs to put a "*" next to Jerome's name.
