Guess ECW Wanted More Air Time

On the one hand, I'm bummed that Caprica got cancelled. After all, I really liked Battlestar Galactica and the story/universe its writers put together. Caprica also showed similar levels of production value and was fairly story-driven. I really wanted to like Caprica. Unfortunately, I just never really did.

The show always came off as a little too emo and a little too unsubtle. It was like the writers of Dawson's Creek were trying to tackle the issues of religious extremism and big brotherish responses. That's why, after two episodes, I started referring to it as "Dawson's Cylon".

I guess on the plus side of the cancellation, there'll be more room for RASSLIN' in the schedule!

Sorry, But That Sucked

Note to self: reading the post-show tweets over Caprica is a great way to diminish your view of your fellow sci-fi viewers.

New Writing Staff?

Ok, so, just watched the new episode of Caprica: it seems like the show's gone completely off the rails.

I mean, for starters, it felt like they left out about four episodes between last season's last episode and this season's first episode. And, many of the "twists" felt rather forced and predictable. The only real "surprises" were how frayed the story lines were and how randomly some thing seemed to be popped in.

Oh well, assuming there's not a Flyers conflict and they don't move it into confilct NCIS (mmm.... Abby), I'll probably watch more episodes.

That reminds me: I've got several unwatched episodes of last season's Dr. Who to delete. That show left me saying, "meh," too.
